2001-11-13 Buffy last night was better than the last three movies I paid money to go see. And speaking of good, Glen David Gold's novel "Carter Beats the Devil" was very good. Kind of a thriller Ragtime meets Doc Savage with some of Michael Chabon's Kavalier and Clay thrown in (who by the way throws in a blurb on the back jacket). Kind of modern pulp fiction/smart beach book? I'm sure someday soon it will be a bad movie I'll regret having paid to see. previous next |
