2003-08-28 Last night I finished reading the advanced copy of �Winner of the National Book Award : A Novel of Fame, Honor, and Really Bad Weather� by Jincy Willett that Pams gave me. Not as good as her "Jenny and the Jaws of Life: Short Stories" but still pretty damn good. She�s a funny, smart lady. Jhumpa Lahiri, who like Willett had a great collection of short stories out last year, has a novel out as well. I saw it at Pam�s store and the cover makes me not want to read it. It makes the book look like one of those xmas books about miracles that happen to a nice family during the holidays. It also looks like your bedroom after you tried to paint it yourself after you started getting your subscription to Martha Stewart.
