2002-03-25 I picked up some contact lenses today because of all the fist fights I'll probably get into this Summer. And I was tired of getting so much grief for my monocle. Man, people get mad when I pull that out when I look over the wine list. I don't know what ruffians get more upset over, the monocle or my cigarette holder. I should also get a new pair of white gloves. I'm really enjoying reading Air Guitar by Dave Hickey again. I bought my own copy on Saturday night and on it there is a sticker that says he's the winner of the Macarthur Fellow "Genius" award. The guy at Quimby's said Hickey is curating a sculpture show at the Art Chicago thing coming up. So you can go and maybe touch a real life genius. previous next |
