2002-08-25 On Sat. night I ended up at Carol's Pub and Dave was right, best guitarist in town! Wow, that house band was incredible. Picture 3 old white, trucker looking guys. And one middle aged lady in a perm, mom glasses, a tight skirt and a tube top. And imagine them doing the best rendition of Ring of Fire. Every one of them had an incredible, real voice. They should be the houseband for some famous talk show but I'm glad I can walk in cover free to a little place like that in Chicago and see them. When they started the first notes of Freebird a guy in a super mullet jumped up and pumped his fist in the air. And I sat back and enjoyed it, irony free, in total agreement with supermullet, my fellow freebird. Would you remember me? previous next |
